Verna Eileen Beffa

Verna Eileen Beffa, 98, of Milford, died Tuesday, November 8, 2011, at Valley View Senior Life in Junction City. A visitation will start at 6 pm with a funeral service at 7 pm, Friday, November 11, 2011, at the Penwell-Gabel Mass-Hinitt Funeral Chapel, 805 Caroline Ave. Cremation will follow the services with burial of cremated remains to take place in Rice Lake, Wisconsin at a later date. Pastor David VanBibber will officiate with Chaplain Kenneth Edmiston assisting. Memorial contributions may be given to the Crossroads Baptist Church.

Verna was born August 25, 1913, in Prairie Farm, Wisconsin the daughter of Edwin and Mattie (Greeley) Tucker. She has lived in the Milford area since 1998 having moved from Rice Lake, Wisconsin.

Verna was a homemaker. She was a prayer warrior and a very giving person who helped many people in need. She was a wonderful cook and baker and enjoyed sharing her food with many people. She was a member of Wesleyan Methodist Church in Rice Lake, Wisconsin where she participated with the Christian Womens Association.

She married Fred Beffa, May 12, 1947. He passed away April 11, 2003. They celebrated 56 years of marriage. Verna had a wonderful Christian sense of humor and her humor helped sustained her throughout her long life and illness.

She is survived by two sons, Robert Olsen of St. Cloud, MN. and Fred Beffa of Columbia, MO. , and two daughters, Carolyn Roatch of Franklin, TN. and Gayle Edmiston of Milford, KS. She is survived by grandchildren, Robbin, Steven, Therese and Kimberly all of Minnesota, Dr. David Barnett and his son Dave of Jackson, MS. , Suzanne and her daughters Christy and Sarah of Franklin, TN., Matthew Beffa of Columbia, MO., Michael Beffa and his son Dawson of Manhattan, KS. , three nephews, Dick O'Brien and Larry Flynn of Rice Lake, WI, Wayne Tucker of Rexburg, ID, Steven Tucker, and two nieces, Janet Quinn of Rice Lake, WI., and Lynette Bird also of Wisconsin. Also, Kyong Bunger and Vanessa Guigley of Herington, KS. She is also survived by the following relatives, Maria and Kevin Simpson, LaDonna and Chester Rick, John Edmiston, Brandon Edmiston, Ken and Cheryl Edmiston, Amanda and Eric Schaetzel of Longmont CO, David Cline, Tammy Melton, Megan Cline and Jackie Cline, Chu and John Miller, Naomi, Christina, Hyo Son and Brad Dalgran, Cori and Logan, Hun Suk and Scott Gardner, Vicki and Timothy and numerous other grandchildren and great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
