Thula Lene Lacy, age 49, of Junction City, Kansas, passed away on January 2, 2026, in Wichita, Kansas. Born on January 25, 1976, to Harold and Arlene (Roberts) Lacy and was affectionately named after her maternal grandmother, Thula Roberts.
Thula was a source of light and joy to those who knew her. She was known for her vibrant personality and ability to connect with everyone she met. Thula was the kind of person who never met a stranger—only friends they hadn’t laughed with yet. A true social butterfly, she filled every room with humor, warmth, and an unmistakable joy for life. Conversations with Thula were never dull; laughter was always close, and countless fond memories were made wherever she went.
A devoted member of the Westside Tabernacle congregation, Thula attended regularly, finding community and purpose within her church family. Thula enjoyed singing in the choir at her church, where her love for music shone brightly. She loved to cook and take pleasure in her culinary creations, especially her cherished baked chicken with cream of mushroom and rice. Her love for animals was evident, reflecting her compassionate and nurturing spirit.
Thula loved her family and always made sure that everyone felt that love by reaching out even when she was not always able to visit. She did make trips back home to ensure she was present for Thanksgivings at Grandma Roberts' house to enjoy time with her family.
Thula has left a lasting mark on all who loved her, including her sister, Monica Lacy; brother, Harold Lacy; auntie, Bessie (David) Glover; uncles, Emmanuel (Mary) Roberts and Arthur Roberts; and cousins, Joseph (Ramona) Roberts and their two children, Faith and Josiah Roberts; Mythias Brown; and Shantil Chaney. While many will miss Thula's infectious laughter and warmth, her memory will continue to inspire love and kindness in those who knew her.
Thula is preceded in death by her parents, Harold Eugene and Arlene Lacy, and her grandparents, Emmanuel and Thula Roberts, and Albert and Laura Lacy, as well as uncles Jessie Roberts and John Roberts.
Visitation will be held on January 15, 2026, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Johnson & Mass-Hinitt Funeral Home, located at 203 N Washington St, Junction City, KS 66441.
