Thomas E. "Cookie" Day, 50, of Junction City, KS, passed away on Tuesday, August 17, 2021 at the Hendry Regional Medical Center in Clewiston, FL. A graveside service will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, August 28, 2021 at the Milford Cemetery. A visitation will be held 5-7 p.m. Friday, August 27, 2021 at the Johnson Funeral Home. Memorial contributions are suggested to be given to his grandson Luke c/o Exchange Bank in Junction City.
Thomas was born October 20, 1970 in Westheim, Germany the son William H. and Therese (Schmeilzl) Day.
Thomas graduated from Junction City High School with the class of 1989. He was a grout plant supervisor for fifteen years. At the time of his passing in Florida, he was working for Treviicos Construction Company based in Italy. He was supervising a construction project at Lake Okeechobee. Thomas also worked for Footlocker in Junction City.
Thomas enjoyed water activity having spent a lot of time at Lake Milford boating. He worked as a camp host at the lake. He loved spending time with family and had a very adventurous personality.
He is survived by his wife Angela of the home in Junction City; one son, William Day of Junction City, KS; two daughters, Christine Heindel and her husband Jos and Caitlyn Lipa Mendoza both of Junction City, KS; one grandson, Luke Lipa Mendoza; special friend, Christy Diaz of Clewiston, FL.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
