Steven’s early years were shaped in Hoisington, Kansas, where he graduated from Hoisington High School in the early 1970s. His sense of commitment and duty led him to serve his country proudly in the United States Army, dedicating a total of twelve years over the course of two distinct chapters in his life. He answered the call during both the Vietnam era and again during Desert Storm, embodying a steadfast resolve and a deep sense of responsibility.
Steven married Kim Trisler on September 15, 1983, in Guymon, Oklahoma. Their union was one of enduring love and partnership, traversing life’s ups and downs together for over four decades. Kim survives him, cherishing the many memories and years they shared.
An exceptional master electrician, Steven worked in Southwest Kansas for nearly thirty years. His expertise and reliability made him a trusted figure both in his profession and among his loved ones, who often relied on his remarkable ability to fix anything and everything that needed mending.
Family was Steven’s proudest accomplishment and greatest source of fulfillment. He was a loving husband, a dedicated father, and a doting grandfather whose loyalty comprised the heart of his household. Though stubborn and opinionated, he was also notably quiet, allowing his actions to speak volumes about his care and affection for those around him.
Steven is deeply mourned by his beloved wife, Kim Laudick, and his children: Robbie Summit, Andrea (Dylan) Donovan, and Stefanie (Nathen) Kozlowski. His legacy extends to his cherished grandchildren: Jaxon Summit, Charley Summit, Natalie Summit, Makenzie Summit, Greyson Donovan, Aria Donovan, Wrynleigh Donovan, Lincoln Donovan, Lucas Laudick, Landon Kozlowski, and Levi Kozlowski. He will also be missed by his sister, Lesley (Claude) Niell, and his brother, Alan (Brenda) Laudick.
He was preceded in death by his father, Leslie Eugene Laudick; his mother, Elizabeth Jane Laudick; his infant son, Brandon Lee Laudick; and his younger brother, Robert Charles Laudick.
