Stephen Michael Stone

Stephen Michel Stone, 75, passed away on July 8, 2026 in Townsend, Tennessee. Stephen was born in Germany on March 9, 1950, to William Richard Stone and Nellie Mardie Stone, who made their home in Junction City, Kansas after William retired from the military, and where Nellie taught for 29 years.

Stephen graduated from Junction City High School and attended Emporia State University and Kansas State University, where he obtained his baccalaureate. Stephen was a jack-of-all trades in the construction industry. He was a rough and ready man, who once survived a fall from a roof without injury, and many other pratfalls. Before he retired from construction, Stephen lived in Las Vegas, Nevada. He was an avid softball player and travelled all over the United States participating in softball tournaments. He would always visit his mother in Junction City on his way to or from tournaments.

Stephen was preceded in death by his father and is survived by his mother, Nellie, and his brother, Richard W. Stone of Santa Maria, California.

Stephen’s remains have been cremated and will be interred in a private family ceremony.
