Solomon L. Edwards

Solomon L. Edwards, 49, of Junction City, Kansas died on Thursday, May 15, 2025 at Stormont-Vail Healthcare in Topeka, Kansas.

Funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, June 7, 2025 at Second Missionary Baptist Church with Reverend Redo Purnell officiating. A visitation will be held one hour to prior to the funeral at the church. Cremation will follow the service.

Solomon was born September 18, 1975, the son of Thommy and Victoria (Edwards) Purnell.

Solomon was always focused on building a future to bring his family together. Though he struggled, he never stopped fighting. He would always lend a hand to those close to him even at his own expense. He had dreams to open a restaurant where he could share his love of cooking with as many people a possible.

He married Emily Kemp. They were later divorced.

Survivors include his five sons; Divante Lavel Edwards, Calvin Lee Johnson, Jordan Lavell Edwards, Davion Alford McDonald and Givanni Lavell Edwards; three daughters, Sophia Star-Lyn Edwards, Jalanique Destiny McDonald and Victoria Juanita Mae Edwards; four grandchildren, Genesis Hallal Johnston, Promise Mala Johnston, Zeal John David Johnston and Razzalyn Aviah Green.
