Roine M. Tessendorf

Roine Meda Tessendorf, 90, Junction City, died on Tuesday, March 20, 2012 at Geary Community Hospital in Junction City. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 27, 2012 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the Penwell-Gabel Johnson Chapel, 203 N. Washington St.. A graveside service will follow the visitation at 11:00 a.m. at Highland Cemetery in Junction City. The family has asked that memorial contributions be made to Valley View Senior Life Center, 1417 W. Ash St., Junction City, KS 66441.

Roine was born on December 31, 1921 to Henry and Laura (Sherbert) Kopfer in rural Clay County, Kansas. She attended schools in Clay County and graduated from the Clay County High School in 1940.

She was married to Chester Leroy Tessendorf on June 15, 1943 in Manhattan, KS. After farming for fourteen years in rural Clay County, they moved to Junction City in 1957. He preceded her in death on January 24, 2006 in Junction City.

She is survived by one son, Irl W. and Peggy Tessendorf of Boonville, MO and one sister, Maxine Horsfall of Kensington, KS. She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Laura Kopfer; and by her brother, Leon Kopfer.
