Robert W. Sell passed away on July 1, 2026, in Junction City, Kansas. Born on November 4, 1949, in Grass Valley, California, Robert’s life was marked by his steadfast commitment to family, honor, and service.
After graduating from high school, Robert proudly served his country in the United States Army. His dedication to duty and country culminated in an honorable discharge in December of 1988. The values he learned and exemplified during his military service remained guiding principles throughout his life.
Upon leaving the Army, Robert embarked on a long career as a bus driver. In this role, he touched countless lives, earning the respect and appreciation of those he served and with whom he worked. His unwavering reliability and warm professionalism became a hallmark of his daily interactions.
Robert’s sense of family was strong and enduring. He is survived by his son, Chad Sell, and his step-daughter, Cheri Holsclaw. His caring spirit also extends to his sisters, Sharon Truxel, Sandra Lazare, and Kathleen Bailey; his grandsons, Christian Sell and Chance Holsclaw; and his granddaughters, Destiny and Amaya Sell, and Marisa Holsclaw. These close relationships were a source of continual pride and comfort to him.
Robert was preceded in death by his wife, Amber Sell, as well as his parents, Christian F. and Betty Jane Sell. Their memories remained dear to him.
A graveside service honoring Robert W. Sell’s memory will be held at Kansas Veterans' Cemetery, located at 5181 Wildcat Creek Road in Manhattan, Kansas, on July 14, 2026, beginning at 1:00 PM. Family, friends, and all who wish to pay their respects are welcome to attend as we remember and celebrate a life devoted to service, perseverance, and love.
Robert W. Sell leaves behind a legacy defined by integrity and dedication, qualities he shared generously with all who knew him. His memory will be cherished always by those whose lives he touched.
