Ralph Smith, a beloved figure in Junction City, Kansas, passed away peacefully at his home on February 20, 2026, at the age of 66. He was born on January 20, 1960, in Augsburg, Germany, and spent his formative years in Junction City, where he graduated from Junction City High School with the class of 1978.

Ralph dedicated a significant part of his life to serving his country, proudly enlisting in the United States Air Force. After his military service, he found fulfillment working at Foot Locker in Junction City, where he became known not just for his work ethic but also for his friendly demeanor and genuine care for those around him.

In addition to his professional commitments, Ralph was a passionate individual whose interests brought joy to his life and those he shared them with. He had a deep love for fishing, often spending quiet afternoons by the water, where he found peace and relaxation. Ralph was also an avid supporter of the Kansas City Chiefs, celebrating their victories with great enthusiasm. Above all, he cherished the time spent with his family, often expressing that his daughter, Jamie, was his world.

Ralph is survived by his daughter, Jamie N. Smith, of Wichita, Kansas; his brother, Rodger Smith, of Chapman, Kansas; his grandson, Jace Miller, of Wichita, Kansas; and his granddaughter, Lilly Miller, also of Wichita, Kansas. He was preceded in death by his father, Wilburn Smith, and his mother, Waltraud Smith, who passed away just a few weeks prior on February 5, 2026.

Ralph Smith will be remembered for his warmth, dedication to family, and the lasting impact he made on those fortunate enough to know him. His presence will be deeply missed, yet his spirit will continue to resonate within the hearts of his family and friends.
