Rachel Marie Moore

April 25, 1984 — May 24, 2025

Rachel Marie Moore, 41, passed away on May 24, 2025 after a courageous two-year battle with cancer. Her strength, spirit, and love will be remembered always by those who knew and loved her.

Born at Fort Riley, Kansas, on April 25, 1984, to Donna K. (Moore) Hadden and Bobby Humbard Jr. Rachel graduated from Manhattan High School in 2002 and went on to earn her Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Kansas State University in 2011. As a devoted K-State alumna, Rachel was a proud Wildcat fan.

Rachel began her professional journey at Geary Community Hospital, where she served as a dedicated patient care coordinator. Her passion for helping others led her to the Junction City VA Clinic, where she excelled as a regional manager.

She had a deep love for animals and adored her cat April, and spent cherished time with her Aunt Cheryl and Uncle Bruce working at their exotic bird farm. Her joyful spirit was evident in her hobbies—whether fishing, crocheting, immersing herself in the world of Harry Potter, or enjoying Disney classics, especially her favorite, Lilo & Stitch. Rachel also was an avid sports fan and enjoyed watching the KSU Wildcats and the Dallas Cowboys.

Rachel is survived by the love of her life, her lifelong partner Jermaine (JR) Reid of the home in Grandview Plaza Kansas; mother Donna K (Moore) Hadden of Manhattan, Kansas; father Bobby Humbard Jr. of Junction City, Kansas; father Bruce R. Hadden of Colorado Springs, Colorado; mother-in-law Aida B Reid of Topeka, Kansas; father-in-law Frederick D Reid of Junction City, Kansas; sister Elizabeth R. Hadden (Jeremy) Vorhauer, brother Christopher R. Hadden of Newton, Kansas; brother Joseph Humbard of Junction City, KS; brother Frankie Humbard; nephew Mark C. Goodwin III; niece Katarina R. Vorhauer; nephew Elijah S. Vorhauer all of Colorado Springs, Colorado; grandmothers Mary Ann Moore of Manhattan, Kansas and Jane Carter of Junction City, Kansas; and numerous loving aunts, uncles, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her grandfathers, Jimmy E. Moore and Vic Carter, and infant brothers Andrew Humbard, and Jacob Humbard.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests memorial donations be to the Junction City Animal Shelter 2424 N. Jackson Street Junction City, Kansas 66441, honoring Rachel’s lifelong love of animals.
