Paul (Mike) Gaylord Irvine,II, 89, of Junction City, passed away on May 29, 2025, at the Dwight D. Eisenhower VA Medical Center in Leavenworth, Kansas. Graveside services with military honors will take place on Thursday, June 5, 2025, at 9:30 am at the Kansas Veterans' Cemetery at Manhattan, KS. with Pastor Erik Graefe officiating. No visitation is planned. Memorial contributions have been designated to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
He was born on April 20, 1936, to Elizabeth Irvine at Fort Riley, KS. Paul attended Junction City, Schools. He served in the U.S. Navy from December 1954 to December 1958 and was stationed on the East Coast on the USS NK Perry-DDR883.
He was retired from the Geary County Sheriff's Department as the Chief Correctional Officer. Paul had been a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles #830 and the American Legion.
He married Clara Eileen Schonberner, August 24, 1956, they had three children. Clara preceded him in death January 3, 2024.
Paul is survived by his children, Donald (Kim) Irvine of Junction City, KS, Jeff (Lynda) Irvine of Salina, KS and Patricia Irvine of Salina, KS; seven grandchildren, Kyle (Sarah) Irvine, Justin (Sadie) Irvine, Madyson (Paris Gorman) Irvine, Sean (Krista) Schuff, Marcella (Daniel) Middleton, Ray Hinzo and Mike Moore; eleven great-grandchildren, Jovie and Haven Irvine, Myla Irvine and Parkyr Gorman, Isaiah, Carter and Emalyn Schuff, Estella, Richard, Marley and Elly Middleton.
