Paul Jefferson Brumfield might have been small in stature but he was big in spirit. Having endured four months, it came time for his soul to rest.
Paul Jefferson Brumfield, of Junction City, Kansas died Wednesday, January 3, 2024 at Via Christi Nursing Home in Manhattan, Kansas.
Paul was born November 28, 1938, in Franklinton, Louisiana, the son of Purvis and Audrey M. (Dyson) Brumfield. He grew up in the Vernon Community of Mt. Hermon, Louisiana. While in Mt. Hermon, he was a member of the Plainview Church of Christ Holiness USA. He was also a graduate of the local Vernon School.
Paul was a fifty year resident of Junction City, Kansas. He attended Pilgrim Baptist Church in Manhattan, Kansas.
Paul served in the United States Army. He later worked as an equipment operator for Kansas State University in Manhattan, Kansas.
Survivors include his children, Micki and Toshika Brumfield; sisters, Ethel Campbell and his caregiver Jackie Chapman; four grandchildren, one niece, two nephews, two grand-nieces and two grand-nephews, numerous Louisiana cousins, a special sister-in-law Colleen Burnett and long time friend Reneva Chatfield.
Welcoming him in Glory are his parents and three wives; Barbara Pitts, Lavatta Slater and Carolyn Jefferson.
A graveside service with military honors will take place 11 a.m. Wednesday, January 17, 2024 at Fort Riley Cemetery. Those attending the graveside service are encourage to meet at 10:15 a.m. at Johnson Funeral Home prior to the graveside service.
