MiRan Kim, 60, of Junction City, passed away on August 15, 2019.
A vigil will be held on Friday, August 23, 2019, from 6:00 pm. to 6:45 pm with a visitation to follow from 6:45 pm. to 8:00 pm. at the Johnson Funeral Home of Junction City, 203 N. Washington St.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 24, 2019, 11:00 am at the Korean Grace Baptist Church of Junction City, 629 Grant Ave., with Pastor SongTae Kim officiating.
Cremation will follow the services.
MiRan was born on November 30, 1958, in the city of Samcheonpo in the Gyeongnam province of South Korea to HwaBeom and SangDal (Baek) Yang. She was the youngest of nine children. As a young woman, she fell in love with a young man named SangYeol Kim. They married on April 10, 1982 in the city of Dongducheon, South Korea. Together they immigrated to the United States to be with family in Junction City, Kansas. They ultimately made Junction City their home.
MiRan was a dedicated wife, loving mother, and loyal friend. She had a strong motherly instinct and would make sure those she cared for, both family and friends, were taken care of. Many referred to her as "Momma" because of her loving and caring nature.
She was loved by all.
MiRan is survived by her loving family; husband, SangYeol Kim; her two daughters, Kerry Anne Kim and Christine Kim Benavente and husband Robert Benavente Jr. both of Junction City, KS; three granddaughters Leahna Barber, Lamorah Barber, Saige Benavente; one brother JongJin Yang of South Korea; one sister HongRan Yang of South Korea; and a host of loving family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents and 6 siblings.
