Marie L. Brighton, 96, Wakefield, passed away Thursday, April 13, 2006, at the Geary County Hospital.
She was born January 22, 1910, the daughter of Nels and Josephine (Parrack) Nelson. 
She married Ivan J. Brighton on October 15, 1932, in Milford, Kansas. He passed away March 1, 1997.
Marie worked for a Sanitarium operated by Dr. Brinkley. She also worked for Duckwalls in Junction City, Kansas. She was a member of the Milford Congregational Church.

She was preceded in death by three brothers, Raymond, Earl and Flloyd. She was also preceded in death by one sister Eva Wohler and one Grandson Gregory Barclay.
A funeral service will take place 10:30 a.m., Monday, April 17, at the Milford Congregational Church with the Reverend Stew Smith and the Reverend Todd Britt. The interment will follow the service at the Milford Cemetery.
Mrs. Brighton will lie in state after 3:00 p.m. Sunday at the Penwell-Gabel Johnson Chapel located at 203 N. Washington in Junction City, Kansas. The family will receive friends from 6-8:00 p.m.
Memorial contributions may be given to the American Heart Association or to the Milford Congregational Church and left in care of the funeral home.
