Marian Frances Kosovich, a dedicated professional and passionate artisan, passed away on May 11, 2026, at the Tallgrass Healthcare Campus in Junction City, Kansas. Born on July 10, 1945, in Norton, Kansas, Marian's life was marked by a steadfast commitment to her work, her family, and the creative expressions that enriched the lives of those around her.

Marian graduated from the Brown-Mackie School of Business in Salina, Kansas, laying the foundation for a career characterized by diligence and versatility. She notably contributed nine and a half years to Shaver and Company Architects, where her dedication was evident. Prior to this, from 1972 to 1978, Marian served as a day care provider in her home, a role in which she nurtured and supported many young lives. Embracing her multifaceted roles with a touch of humor and pride, she affectionately promoted herself as a "Domestic Engineer," highlighting the depth and breadth of her everyday contributions.

Beyond her professional achievements, Marian was a cherished member of a quilting guild, an engagement that blossomed into a profound personal passion beginning in 2000. Her quilts, celebrated for their warmth, vibrancy, and lasting beauty, stand as a testament to her creative spirit. Her love and spunk will live on in every square she shared.

Marian’s life was enriched by enduring relationships with many, including her life-long best friend and partner in crime, Pat Blair of Hoxie, Kansas, and her treasured friends at the Butterfly Palace. She was also closely connected to family members including her sister-in-law Ann Husted of Norton, Kansas, sister-in-law Donna Hughes of Flower Mound, Texas, as well as her nieces and nephews, all of whom cherished her presence and influence.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Margaret (Montgomery) Husted; her brother, Gordon Dean Husted; bonus brother Archie Hughes; and her husband, Stephen Kosovich, Jr.

The family extends heartfelt gratitude to the compassionate employees of Tallgrass Healthcare and the dedicated staff of Accord Hospice, whose care and support were a profound comfort during her final days.

It was Marian’s wish to be cremated, and in keeping with her wishes, no formal services are planned. Her memory endures in the hearts of all who had the privilege to know her, honoring a life marked by kindness, creativity, and unwavering devotion.
