Lynne Marie Bliss, a cherished social worker, beloved mother, devoted wife, and loving friend, departed this world on February 13, 2026, at Providence Medical Center in Kansas City, Kansas. Born on December 11, 1970, in Fort Riley, Kansas, Lynne grew up to embody compassion and strength, traits that would guide her throughout her life.
Lynne's professional journey took her to Sunflower State Health Centene Corporation, where she dedicated herself to helping others as a social worker. Her colleagues and clients alike benefited from her unyielding spirit, while her friends marveled at her effervescent laughter that could brighten any room. Lynne was not just an exemplary professional; she was a true friend, a confidant, and a source of joy to all who knew her.
Memories of Lynne are woven in the hearts of her loved ones. Her daughter Kaylynn fondly recalls the encouragement her mother offered her: "keep living your best life." This sentiment perfectly encapsulates Lynne’s approach to life—one filled with boundless love and encouragement. Her daughter Samantha treasures the day her mother first acknowledged her as “her daughter,” a moment that signified the deep bond they shared.
Lynne's husband, Lee Bliss, remembers their entire marriage as a beautiful journey together. To him, Lynne was not just a wife; she was his best friend, his confidant, and yes, his boss. Their shared laughter and love through the years created a tapestry of cherished memories, solidifying Lynne’s role as the "glue" that held their family together.
A devoted mother, Lynne took immense pride in her children and grandchildren. She is survived by her daughters Kaylynn Bliss of Junction City, Kansas, and Samantha Lefebvre of El Paso, Texas, as well as Ashley Bliss of Charleston, South Carolina and sons Joshua Bliss of Summerville, South Carolina, and Christopher Ewing of Farmington Hills, Michigan. Lynne’s grandchildren—Caleb, Christian, Grayson, Finley, Chloe, Evangeline, and Genevieve—were the light of her life, and she embraced her role as a grandmother with excitement and love.
Lynne's friendships were equally as profound. She shared countless memories filled with laughter and joy with her best friends Shannon, Rachel, and Kathy, particularly on nights that involved pickle vodka. She will forever be known to Shannon as "BBB", a title that signifies the bond they shared—one that will forever hold a special place in their hearts. Teri Thomas beautifully expressed Lynne's essence, describing her as "feisty, full of spunk, energy, and determination."
Education was also an important facet of Lynne’s life, having graduated from Larned High School in 1989 and later attending the University of Kansas. Her thirst for knowledge and personal development reflected the joy she found in helping others grow.
Beyond her professional endeavors and family commitments, Lynne enjoyed indulging in her hobbies. Whether it was shopping with friends, riding motorcycles with Lee, or spending quiet evenings at home in her Winnie the Pooh pajamas, Lynne embraced life fully. Her love for her “spoiled fur babies”—Loki, Banjo, and Monster—was evident, showcasing her nurturing spirit.
As Lynne leaves behind a legacy of love, compassion, and unforgettable memories, she is preceded in death by her mother, Mary Ann Ogdon of Pennsylvania. Those who knew Lynne will remember her beautiful soul, her infectious laughter, and her unwavering strength. She will be deeply missed, yet her spirit will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of all she touched.
