John A. Wagnaar Iii

John A. Wagnaar III, 34, of Manhattan, Kansas passed away on Saturday, November 12, 2022. Cremation will take place. A visitation will take place 2-4 p.m. Sunday, November 27, 2022 at Johnson Funeral Home 203 N. Washington Street, Junction City, Kansas. Memorial contributions are suggested to be given to the family to help defray expenses. The contributions may be left at the funeral home for the family.


John was born June 13, 1988 in Aurora, Colorado the son of John A. and Kim L. (Hudson) Wagnaar II.

John graduated from Junction City High School with the class of 2006. During high school, he participated in soccer for four years. After high school, he worked as a civilian contractor on Fort Riley and Kuwait and Afghanistan. After his return to the states, he obtain certification with HVAC. He went to work for Thermal Comfort Air in Manhattan, Kansas. He enjoyed fishing, taking road trips and spending time with friends and family.

He is survived by his parents John and Kim Wagnaar of Kansas City, Missouri; two brothers, Kyle Wagnaar of Virginia Beach, Virginia and Ian Wagnaar of Kansas City, Missouri; one sister, Amanda Wagnaar of Lakewood, Colorado; one nephew, Michael Saul; one niece, MaKayla Saul; paternal grandfather, John A. Wagnaar of Brighton, Colorado; maternal grandparents, Roger and Janet Hudson of Fort Plain, New York; numerous uncles, aunts and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother, Donna Lutes.
