Joann Stone, 76, of Junction City, KS, formerly Council Grove, KS, passed away on Wednesday, January 26, 2022 at Geary Community Hospital. Cremation will take place. No memorial service is planned.

Joann was born December 7, 1945, in Scotts Bluff, NE the daughter of Arthur and Ethel (Deeder) Thurman.

Joann grew up in Scotts Bluff, NE and moved to Colorado where she met and married her husband Tom on January 26, 1965. Joann and Tom later moved to Commerce City, CO before they moved to Kansas. Joann worked over thirty years for Rex Materials in Council Grove. Joann and Tom enjoyed many years bowling in Council Grove. She enjoyed her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Family was her life. She spent many hours attending many sporting events cheering on her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Survivors include her husband Tom of the home in Junction City, KS; two daughters, Lisa Kay Stone of Junction City, KS and DeeDee Kay Graber of Warsaw, MO; five grandchildren, James Lewis, Mandy Kaufman, Samantha Davis, Tabatha Davis and Slade Davis; five great-grandchildren, Raymond Kaufman, Oakley Jolliff, Paxton Kaufman, Knox Wulf and Hannah Sanchez; their beloved dog Kevin; one brother, Ed Thurman of Sequim, WA.

She was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers and three sisters.
