Jennifer T. Hoover, a devoted mother, foster mother, and cherished member of her community, passed away on June 15, 2026, in Topeka, Kansas. Born on January 8, 1970, in Elmendorf, Alaska, Jennifer’s life was marked by her profound dedication to helping children and her vibrant personality that touched the lives of many.
Jennifer graduated from Chugiak High School in 1987 and went on to dedicate much of her life to the care and support of children in need. As a foster mom for most of her life, she provided love and stability to countless children. Later, she extended her compassionate work as an employee at the Juvenile Correctional Facility in Junction City, Kansas. Her unwavering commitment to foster care was recognized when she was honored as Geary County Volunteer of the Year in 2022.
In addition to her nurturing spirit, Jennifer was known for her spunky and colorful personality, which perfectly complemented her distinctive style. She was well-loved by everyone she met, embodying warmth and kindness throughout her interactions. Jennifer’s love language was cooking, most notably her annual Christmas enchiladas.
Her life was rich with memorable joys—from annual trips to Branson to her love of the beach. She was an avid shopper and crafter who also treasured coffee and the magic of Disney World. Jennifer’s adventurous spirit was also reflected in her role as a military spouse, during which she was awarded the Field Artillery Molly Pitcher Award while traveling with her husband.
Jennifer married Michael Hoover on May 10, 1994, in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania. Together, they built a lively and loving family that was the centerpiece of Jennifer’s life. She is survived by her husband Michael Hoover; sons Robert (Stephanie) Hoover and Jett Hoover; daughters Kendall Hoover, Michaela (Tobey Eaton) Hoover, and Khloey Hoover; and her cherished grandchildren Raylee Goins, Carter Fletcher, Aiden Goins, Michael Hoover, Titan Hoover-Eaton, Colson Hoover-Eaton, and Kash Fletcher. Jennifer was also a beloved sister to Holly Eyerman and Tracey Eyerman-Swartz, and brothers Joseph Jenkins, Robert Jenkins, Francis Eyerman Jr., and David Wertz.
Jennifer was preceded in death by her parents, Roberta Jones and Francis Eyerman Sr.
Her legacy is one of love, generosity, and an unshakeable commitment to the welfare of children and family. Jennifer T. Hoover will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege to know her, yet her spirit and the impact of her life’s work will endure in the hearts of many.
Cremation has taken place in the care of Johnson & Mass-Hinitt Funeral Home. No services are planned at this time.
