Ingrid E. Bowman, 76, of Junction City, KS died Friday, July 12, 2019 at Valley View Senior Life in Junction City, KS. Ingrid was born November 26, 1942 in Heidenheim, Germany and was the daughter of Eugen and Helene Tauer.
Ingrid did all of her schooling in Germany. She started her apprenticeship program for a business degree and received her degree in Business Administration.
Ingrid worked for USD #475 as secretary at Custer Hill Elementary School for several years and later worked for the Army Air Force Exchange Service (AAFES).
During Ingrid's tenure with AAFES, she worked as the General Manager's secretary, EFA Manager, Stockroom Manager and Computer Operator. Ingrid retired from AAFES with over 20 years of faithful service.
Ingrid married George S. Bowman, Jr. on April 17, 1968 in Heidenheim, Germany. They were later divorced.
Her only surviving family lives in Germany. Locally she is survived by her ex-husband George Bowman and his wife Ellie, with whom Ingrid remained friends, Junction City; and a close friend, Jane Buskey, Junction City. Ingrid is also survived by her extended AAFES family and friends.
It was Ingrid's wish to be cremated.
A Celebration of Life Gathering will be held 1:00 p.m.-3:00 p.m., Saturday, September 7, 2019 at Johnson Funeral Home, Junction City.
