Harvey Laster, Jr.

Harvey Laster, Jr. of Junction City passed away on December 16, 2025 at Tallgrass Healthcare Campus. He was born to Harvey and Ella Laster on March 14, 1955 in Baltimore, Maryland. As a military dependent, he attended many schools but came to Junction City and graduated at Junction City High School with the class of 1973. Harvey was a well-rounded athlete lettering in three sports: Football, Wrestling, and Track. He received a football scholarship from Friends University in Wichita, Kansas. From there he lived in Lawrence taking classes at the University of Kansas and was a walk on for football. As a KU student, he pledged Omega Psi Phi fraternity.

Harvey worked various jobs from being a lifeguard to a club bouncer.

He was preceded in death by his parents Harvey and Ella Laster.

He is survived by his five siblings, Gary Laster of Lawrence, Robert (Melanie) Laster of Junction City, David (Carol) Laster of Manhattan, Diana Laster of Junction City, and Shirley Laster of Maryland.

Cremation has taken place. A celebration of life is planned at a later date. The time, date and location will be determined soon and published.
