George E. Marcus

George E. Marcus, Jr., 72, of Manhattan, Kansas passed away on May 5, 2025, at Ascension Via Christi Hospital in Manhattan.

He was born on June 24, 1952, to George Marcus, Sr. and Delores (Whiston) Marcus at the Stormont Vail Hospital ~ Flint Hills Campus in Junction City.

George proudly served in the United States Marine Corps and was honorably discharged in 1979. He later earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Kansas State University in 1981. That same year, he married the love of his life, Gloria (Johnson) Marcus, in May.

George is survived by his devoted wife of nearly 44 years, Gloria; his children, Troy (Kasey) Marcus and daughter, Megan (Gareth) Rohr; his brothers Mike (Cyndi) Marcus, Greg (Sherri) Marcus and Pat Marcus. He also leaves behind his cherished grandchildren Lincoln, Logan, and Faith Marcus and Trake and Remi Rohr.

He is preceded in death by his parents, George and Delores Marcus; one brother, Steve Marcus and granddaughter, Madelyn Dae Rohr.

Cremation took place on May 9th in the Geary County Crematory. Graveside services for family and friends will take place at a later date at Highland Cemetery in Junction City, Kansas.
