Donald R Printy

Donald R. Printy, affectionately known as Don, passed away on November 13, 2025, in Manhattan, Kansas, at the age of 85. Born on April 3, 1940, in St. Louis, Missouri, Don lived his life with a deep appreciation for the comforts of home and the joy of family.

Don found great happiness in his marriage to Barbara Printy, whom he wed on November 24, 1979, in Junction City, Kansas. Together, they built a loving family that brought him immense pride. Don is survived by his devoted wife, Barbara, son Van Printy, and daughter Julie (Mark) DeVolder. He cherished being a grandfather to Brock DeVolder and Alaina (Jared) Ray. He is also remembered by his brother-in-law Ernie Sanders, who shares in the remembrance of a man dedicated to his loved ones and his passions.

Don had numerous interests that added color to his life. His early years included a passion for drag racing, and later in life he developed an enjoyment of trap shooting, both activities highlighted his adventurous spirit. As the years progressed, he found comfort in quieter pursuits, particularly enjoying shows on the History Channel and Discovery Channel. A fervent sports enthusiast, Don was an avid supporter of K-State and Chiefs football, relishing each game with enthusiasm.

Over the years, he owned and collected vintage automobiles, specifically Chevrolets.

During his time in Junction City, he was a member of St. Xavier Catholic Church and was a Grand Knight in the Knights of Columbus.

Don's legacy will be carried on in the hearts of those he leaves behind, including his wife, children, and grandchildren, who will continue to celebrate the love and warmth he brought into their lives. He was preceded in death by his parents, Louis and Geraldine Printy, as well as his siblings, Louann Sanders, Geraldine Kormeier, Skip Printy, and Michael Printy, and his beloved dog "Murfi Mae".

As we reflect on Don's life, we honor the cherished family moments, shared laughter, and the lasting impact he had on everyone fortunate enough to know him. He will be dearly missed and remembered with love and respect.
