Deborah Hoisington, a loving mother, devoted family woman, and cherished member of her community, passed away on May 7, 2026, in Junction City, Kansas. Born on February 1, 1960, in Des Moines, Iowa, Deborah lived a life full of warmth, compassion, and unwavering dedication to those she held dear.
From an early age, Deborah’s family was the center of her world. She treasured the moments spent in her youth on group trips alongside her siblings, Steve Nuzum, Robert Nuzum Jr., and Sam Nuzum creating memories that would shape her vibrant and outgoing personality. Known for her great spirit, loving and caring nature, and a heart that embraced all, she was a constant source of support and encouragement, especially to her children.
Deborah’s proudest accomplishments were her children and grandchildren, a testament to the love she poured into nurturing and guiding them throughout their lives. She is survived by her devoted partner, Joel Lewis, whom she met over ten years ago in Junction City. Together, they shared many joyful moments while Joel’s compassionate care sustained her in her final years.
Her children include sons Willie Clariett Jr., Craig Henderson, Joshua Morton, Kevin Terrell, and Dale Terrell, along with daughters Crystal Henderson and Sha’Dale Terrell. She also leaves behind a host of grandchildren, nieces, and nephews who benefited from her enduring love and presence.
Though her heart was heavy with the loss of her late parents, Robert and Patricia Nuzum Sr., her daughter Amber Henderson, and brother Sam Nuzum, Deborah’s dedication to family remained steadfast and unshakeable. She found comfort and joy in her faith, regularly reading the Bible, and expressed her creativity through cooking, tending to her plants, and spending cherished moments watching football and swimming. Her fondness for unicorns added a touch of magic and wonder to her everyday life.
Deborah’s life was a vivid tapestry of love, laughter, and family bonds that will continue to inspire all who knew her. Her legacy of kindness, strength, and devotion endures in the hearts of her loved ones and the community she so deeply touched.
She will be remembered not only for her big heart and infectious personality but for a life lived with purpose and love at its very core. Deborah Hoisington’s presence was a blessing, and her memory will forever be treasured.
