Deborah "Debbie" Mae Helterbrand, a beloved member of her community and an enduring source of strength for her family, passed away on July 28, 2025, at the age of 76 in Manhattan, Kansas. Born on July 10, 1949, in Topeka, Kansas, Debbie's life was characterized by her deep commitment to family and her unwavering dedication to her profession.
Family and friends are invited to honor Debbie's life at the visitation scheduled for August 11, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Johnson & Mass-Hinitt Cremations, Funerals & Receptions located at 203 N Washington St, Junction City, KS, 66441. A graveside service will be held the following day, August 12, 2025, at 9:00 AM at the Kansas Veterans' Cemetery, located at 5181 Wildcat Creek Road, Manhattan, KS, 66503.
For 38 years, Debbie worked as a supply technician at Geary Community Hospital, where she was known for her work ethic and compassion. After retiring, she continued to be an inspirational presence in the lives of many.
Debbie greatly cherished the time spent surrounded by her family, particularly during their cherished weekly Sunday gatherings. Her warmth and humor will be profoundly missed, as will her passion for music, especially the tunes of Elvis Presley and the classic sounds of the 50s and 60s. Another of her joys included watching cardinals, which she particularly loved.
She leaves behind her devoted daughter, Judith (Antony) Mann, as well as her son, Eric Duntz. Debbie was preceded in death by her two loving parents loving parents, Wayne Starr and Eunice Neal, her husband, George Helterbrand, and her son, David Helterbrand.
Debbie leaves behind a legacy of love, resilience, and compassion, and she will forever be remembered by those whose lives she touched.
