Junction City

Deanna K. Henry, 79, of Junction City, Kansas passed away on October 21, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. 

She was born on February 4, 1945, to William and Hazel (Gfeller) Pechin in Junction City, Kansas. She attended Junction City High School until 11th grade when she met the love of her life, Butch Henry. 

They were married on November 25, 1961, at St. Xavier's Catholic Church. They then moved to Wyoming and stayed there until 1983, when they moved back to Junction City, Kansas. 

She was involved in Archery, winning many awards including Wyoming State Women's Archery Championship three times in a row. She used this skill for taking a deer and an antelope. Her family will fondly remember the outdoor activities they shared together including camping, fishing, and being outdoors. 

Those who knew her best knew her love for gardening. Deanna had a beautiful garden consisting of many different flowers but Lillies were her favorite. 

Deanna is survived by her loving husband, Butch; three daughters, Kimberly, Sandra, and Jamie; seven grandchildren, JR, Kaylyn, Chase, Melissa, Elizabeth, Victoria, and Trent; four great-grandchildren, Landon, Juliette, Melanie, Nathaniel and a host of other loving family and friends.  

She was preceded by her parents, three brothers, three sisters, and her loving dog, Snowball. 

A visitation will be held at the Johnson & Mass-Hinitt Funeral Home, Friday, October 25, 2024, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
