A jack-of-all-trades, Christopher was most proud of his work as a mechanic, a craft in which he found both purpose and pride. His hands not only mended engines but also built lasting memories and strong bonds with those he held dear.
Christopher served his country with honor and distinction in the United States Army from 1977 until his retirement in 1997 as an E-6 Staff Sergeant. His two decades of military service reflected his steadfast commitment and discipline, qualities that carried through every facet of his life.
He was a loving father to his sons, Christopher S. Billings II and Moses P. Billings, who were his greatest sources of pride. Countless cherished hours were spent together in the outdoors—camping, fishing, and hunting—creating treasured moments during their childhoods that deeply enriched their family life. His role as a devoted parent was central to his identity, and his sons carried forward his values and spirit.
Beyond his familial role, Christopher was an animal lover who lovingly spoiled all of his dogs and cats, demonstrating a gentle and caring nature that extended beyond people to all creatures close to his heart. A passionate gun collector, he also found joy in woodworking, engraving, and working on cars during his spare time. He cherished riding his Harley around town and embarking on occasional road trips, embracing the freedom and adventure they offered.
Christopher’s life was interwoven with the loving support of his family including his parents, Roy Billings and his wife MJ, and Charlene Billings, whom he is survived by. He is also survived by his brother Roy “Skipper” Billings and sister Samantha “Sammy,” who, along with his sons, remain his enduring legacy.
A graveside service to honor Christopher’s life will be held from 10:00 to 10:30 AM on June 26, 2026, at the Kansas Veterans' Cemetery located at 5181 Wildcat Creek Road, Manhattan, KS 66503.
