Charles Ray Newman, age 73, passed away on April 23, 2026.
Charles was known for his stead spirit, warm heart, and unwavering faith. He carried a calm and reassuring presence, often reminding those around him that everything would be okay and that, through the strength of God, all things would work out. His words brought comfort, and his belief brought hope to many.
Charles was preceded in death by his parents Charlie and Helen Newman; and his brothers Clyde Newman, Bobby Newman, and Chester Newman.
Charles is lovingly survived by his two daughters La'Kisha Holloway and La'Taisha (Newman) Borders; grandchildren Keiana Newman, Kavasea Hunter, Lakendrick Hunter, Diamante Taylor, Jaisha Shumpert, Jazmine Zanders, and Destiny Cunningham; two great-grandchildren Kamaje McFarley and Kingsley Cochran; his brother Billy Newman; and a host of nieces and nephews.
