Funeral Services for Carol Lois Taylor, 72, of Junction City will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 30, 2008 at the Penwell-Gabel Johnson Funeral Chapel with Reverend Darel Boston officiating. Burial will follow at Skiddy Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday, 6-8 p.m. at Penwell-Gabel Johnson Chapel, 203 N. Washington. Mrs. Taylor passed away at her home on Friday, April 25, 2008. Memorial contributions may be given to the Hospice at Geary Community Hospital c/o Geary Community Health Care Foundation P.O. Box 3015 Junction City, Kansas 66441.
Carol was born January 25, 1936, in Junction City, Kansas the daughter of Clifford and Emma Schmedeman Rush. She has resided in the Geary County area her entire life.
Carol attended the Pleasant View School and graduated from Junction City High School in 1953. She attended Kansas State University for one year.
She married Bruce Collins. They divorced in 1981.
She married Glenn Taylor June 12, 1987. He survives of the home in Junction City.
Other survivors include her mother Emma Rush of Junction City; three Children, Jeffrey Collins of Alma, KS., Scott Collins of Longmont, CO. and Alan Collins of Englewood, CO. She is also survived by her step children, Rusty Taylor of White City, KS and Glenda Hendrickson of Tucson, AZ., one sister Evelyn Mayfield of San Antonio, TX and one brother Don Rush of Junction City, KS. She is survived by eight grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her father and one sister Dolores Collins.
Carol managed the Interstate Finance Company for many years in Junction City. She later worked for the Harper and Hornbaker Law Firm. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Junction City.
