Carol J. Kamm, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away on July 15, 2026, at the age of 88. Born on November 13, 1937, Carol’s life spanned decades of devoted love, hard work, and profound kindness that touched the hearts of all who knew her.
Raised in Junction City, Kansas, Carol attended and graduated from Junction City High School. While her children were growing up she devoted her time to caring and loving the children in her neighborhood, to include friends and family who needed help, as well as other neighbors. Caring for children was an important aspect of her life and she did it thanklessly. As her children got older she began working as a sales associate at Sears where she worked for many years, always greeting coworkers and customers alike with friendliness and care.
A defining moment in Carol’s life was marrying Robert “Bob” Kamm, the love of her life, on May 18, 1959, in Junction City, Kansas. Together, Carol and Bob built a home filled with laughter and belonging, guided by their shared values of family, friendship, and service to others. Their partnership flourished both at home and in their pursuits beyond it, most notably as active members of the Junction City Saddle Club. Their passion for horses created countless cherished memories and enduring friendships, weaving their lives into the fabric of the local community.
Carol’s deepest pride was her family. Her unwavering love as a wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother was evident to all who knew her. Carol is survived by her son, Robert (Susan) Kamm of Junction City, Kansas; her daughter, Teresa (Vernon) Anderson of White City, Kansas; her grandchildren; Bailey (Tyler) Parker of White City, Kansas, Becky (Chance) Hager of Paola, Kansas, Jake (Hannah) Anderson of White City, Kansas, Colby (Bree) Kamm of Olathe, Kansas, Kelsey (Zach) Mann of Junction City, Kansas, and Kori (Adam) Esau of Halstead, Kansas; her thirteen great-grandchildren; as well as her sister, Kathleen Jeffers of Garden City, Kansas. Each member of her family carries with them the lessons of compassion, strength, and unconditional generosity that Carol embodied each day.
Carol was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Bob Kamm, who passed in 1997, as well as her father, Ralph Kidd, and her mother, Alma Grover Kidd. The legacy she leaves behind is testament to a life beautifully lived—marked by a gentle heart, unwavering devotion, and boundless kindness. Her happiest moments were those spent surrounded by loved ones, fostering deep connections and lasting memories that will be treasured always.
Carol’s circle of friends and family, built through years of sincerity and caring, is a tribute to the way she lived her life: always giving, steadfastly strong, and forever putting others before herself.
