Calvin H. Wilson, Sr.

Funeral services for Calvin H. Wilson, Sr., 80, of Junction City, KS will be held at 10 a.m., Monday, November 21, 2011 at Penwell-Gabel Johnson Chapel, 203 N. Washington Street with Pastor Ronnie Roberts officiating. Cremation will follow the services and a private family inurnment will take place at a later date. Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m., Sunday, November 20, 2011 at Penwell-Gabel Johnson Chapel. Mr. Wilson passed away at Valley View Senior Life Center on November 17,2011. Memorial contributions have been designated to the First Christian Church, 1429 St. Mary's Road, Junction City, KS 66441.

Mr. Wilson was born October 3, 1931, McCracken, Kansas to Calvin and Vera (Tiller) Wilson. He was in the United States Army and served in the Korean War. He received the Korean Service Medal w/1 Bronze Service Star, the United Nations Service Medal, National Defense Service Medal and the Presidential Unit Citation (ROK).

Following his time in the United States Army he worked in Construction.

He is survived by two sons; Calvin H. Wilson, Jr. and wife Susan of Junction City, KS and Darrell Wilson of Ness City, KS and daughter, Peggy Collins of Mounds, OK, six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and half-brother, Edwin Funk.
