Brenda VanHoesen, born November 7, 1955, in Albuquerque, New Mexico, passed away leaving behind a family and community shaped by her steady kindness and giving spirit.

Prior to graduating from Chapman High School in 1973, Brenda became a proud member of the Fort Riley Saddle Club. She poured her heart into the horse world, riding her beloved horse, Little Gal, in many local shows. Those days brought her real happiness and she was rewarded with numerous ribbons and trophies over the years.

After graduating, Brenda worked hard throughout her life and was employed for many years at Mobile Traveler, later continuing her career at Home Lumber. Whatever the job in front of her, she brought reliability, warmth, and a willingness to help; traits that defined her far beyond the workplace.

Above all, Brenda was generous and caring. She found genuine joy in helping those less fortunate, often in simple, unassuming ways that didn't seek attention but made a lasting difference.

Brenda is survived by her daughter, Brittny VanHoesen, two grandchildren, Janeava and MJ, who were a great source of pride and love in her life. She is survived by her siblings Thomas L. Ballowe of Arizona, Craig L. Ballowe of Larned, Kansas, Suzetta M. Floberg of Milford, Kansas, and Sonja L. Pierson of Pipe Creek, Texas. She also leaves behind her loyal dog, Rascal, whom she loved dearly.

Her family will remember her for her compassion, her quiet strength, and the way she made people feel seen and cared for.

Cremation has taken place. No services are planned at this time.
