Betty J. Garber died peacefully on the morning of the 25th of December, 2025 in Junction City, Kansas after an extended illness.

Betty was born in Altoona, PA on the 27th of September, 1946 to Homer Glunt and Katherine Schaeffer. She was a graduate of Hollidaysburg Area Senior High School in 1964. Betty married the love of her life, Leroy (Red) Garber Jr. on the 26th of November 1964. They had two children together, Lisa and Scott. Betty loved her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren even though she didn’t get the opportunity to see them very often, especially in her later years.

Betty’s positive energy was contagious. She loved to have fun and make people smile. Betty enjoyed watching her sports, especially UFC, baseball, and football. Betty loved her Kansas City Chiefs!

Betty worked mostly as a nursing assistant while raising her children. She later worked at a medical device company as shift supervisor until she retired after ten years. In 2012, Betty and her husband, Red, moved to Kansas to live with their daughter, Lisa and her husband, David. She enjoyed her life there until her passing.

Betty is survived by her husband of 61 years, Leroy (Red) Garber Jr., and her children, Lisa (David) Green and Scott Garber.

Betty is predeceased by her father, Homer Glunt; her mother, Katherine (Schaeffer) Corle; her sister Kay (Glunt) Claar; and her brother, Michael Glunt.

Betty and her family chose cremation. Her cremated remains will be buried at Kansas Veterans' Cemetery in Manhattan, Kansas. No services are planned at this time.
