Bessie Martin

Bessie Mae Martin was born on December 18, 1961, at Irwin Army Hospital. She departed this life on January 31, 2026.

Bessie was a lifelong resident of Junction City, where she grew up and built a life rooted in love, perseverance, and devotion to family. She was known for her warm heart, quiet strength, and unwavering dedication to those she loved.

She worked faithfully as a dietary aide at Valley View Nursing Home, where she cared for others with compassion and kindness. Her work was more than a job-it was a reflection of her nurturing spirit.

Bessie was an amazing and devoted mother to her one beloved son, whom she cherished deeply. He was the center of her world, and she poured her heart into raising him. She desired for him to have a better life than she had, and she worked tirelessly to provide, support, and encourage him every step of the way.

She enjoyed shopping, spending quality time with her son, and creating simple but meaningful memories. Her love, sacrifices, and dedication will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew her.

Bessie Mae Martin leaves behind her beloved son and a community of family and friends who will miss her dearly but will carry her memory with them always.

Her life was a testament to a mother’s love-selfless, enduring, and unconditional.

A visitation will be held at Johnson & Mass-Hinitt Funeral Home in Junction City, Kansas from 5-7pm. The funeral will take place at Westside Tabernacle located at 908 Grant Ave, Junction City, KS 66441 at 1pm with a graveside service to follow at Highland Cemetery.
